Stephanie Burnham is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling at the University of Wisconsin–Madison with the goal of becoming a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor. She is passionate about community service and volunteers regularly at local community programs that support individuals and families. With 13 years of experience in assistive telecommunications, Stephanie has worked extensively with the Deaf and hard of hearing community and with older adults. She brings strong communication, advocacy, and problem-solving skills developed through years of collaborating with consumers, multidisciplinary professionals, and community programs.
Stephanie currently provides array services to both youth and adults. Her counseling approach is grounded in person-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based practices, emphasizing empowerment, collaboration, and cultural humility. She is committed to fostering an affirming, inclusive, and culturally responsive space for clients of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities. Stephanie is dedicated to walking with clients as they navigate systems that are often not designed with their needs in mind. Stephanie is committed to disability advocacy through promoting client empowerment, helping individuals build the self-advocacy skills needed to reach personal goals and participate more fully in community life. Above all, Stephanie believes in honoring each person’s autonomy, recognizing their inherent strengths, and building trusting, collaborative relationships where clients can explore ways to create more meaningful and fulfilling lives in a safe and welcoming space.
